Danny Kedwell joins Hollands & Blair

Hollands & Blair have revealed the signing of prolific marksman Danny Kedwell.

Kedwell spent last season at Havant & Waterlooville following hugely successful spells at Ebbsfleet United, Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon and Welling United among others.

Kedwell scored 11 goals in 25 appearances for Havant but was denied promotion after losing to Dartford.

It is a massive signing that will certainly shine a spotlight on the side from Star Meadow.

Blair have also revealed the capture of former Lordswood and Chatham Town man Joe Kane.

The flying right back scored 12 goals for the Lords in the 2018/19 Season and will be looking to regain that excellent form at his new Club.

Boss Simon Halsey was naturally delighted to have brought both men to the Club with Kedwell obviously being a prized capture. He admitted to Kent Sports News, “It’s an amazing coup for the club. We had the connection with him being a local lad and he saw some of our games at Star Meadow last season, and now that Danny’s finished at Havant, the question was asked of him by our co-chairman Paul Piggott. And it just moved from there really.”

“There were meetings and phone calls and we finally got it done and dusted at training on Thursday night. It’s a massive, massive thing for the club to have someone of his stature coming to play here!”

“I looked at the squad at training this week and we’ve got a good squad there. We had a good season last year and so with the additions that we’ve made, it’ll hopefully make us even stronger and perhaps we’ll be able to see out the games that we couldn’t and it means that we’ll have a lot more strength in depth now.”

“There are really some great players in SCEFL this season. You’ve got the likes of Freeman; Bradshaw – who’s gone form Sheppey to Chatham; Denness; Pugh; Hayes dropping down from Dartford; Evans; it’s never ending… SCEFL is certainly inviting some very talented players at the moment.”

Tonight’s news is a huge statement of intent from Blair who are now sure to be among the fancied sides for promotion this season.
