Match Report from Croydon FC
Croydon started very slow with Rochester Utd having the better of the chances in the first 20 minutes but they could not find the net. The trams stayed resilient and weathered the storm to then turn it on and start pushing Rochester back creating a few good chances just firing wide on occasions.10 minutes before the break Croydon attacked through a great piece of link up okay from Charlie Gee and Levi Shango pulling the ball back to Andy somo to round two defenders and fire the ball home. 1-0 and that’s how it sTyed at the interval. Croydon came out in the second half and dominated a majority of the play shutting out Rochester’s attacks and creating chances of there own and doubled there lead through some fantastic work from the frontline seeing Somo slot the ball home in style 2-0 . Rochester didn’t give up and found themselves on the attack and awarded a penalty due to a foul on the box and a yellow card shown to skipper Charlie Defty . Up stepped the Rochester penalty taker and was prevented by Croydon Fc no1 Adam Ballard with a stunning save to keep the score at 2-0. Rochester’s players heads dropped and Croydon sensed it and went in for the kill. A corner kick to Croydon see the ball cleared out to John Leavy who squares to ball to Charlie Gee on the edge of the box to shimmy past 2 defenders and smash the ball home in style to score a very well deserved goal to cap off a solid individual performance 3-0 . Croydon kept coming forward creating Chances and the final goal came from a beautiful through ball from Fred Agyapong to Somo to slot the ball home securing his hatrick and sealing a 4-0 win for Croydon.
