Benbow the latest to join Sheppey United

Sheppey United have added further reinforcements to their impressive looking squad ahead of the 2019/20 Season.

Greg Benbow heads to the Havill having spent previously spent time with Beckenham Town and Sevenoaks Town in the last few years and Chatham and VCD Athletic previously.

The Sheppey webiste caught up with their new man:

What was your impression of the pitch, stadium and fans?

After playing on 3G for a few years it will be nice to play on a grass pitch again. The facilities are also really good which is a bonus. When playing against Sheppey I could always hear the passionate fans, it really helps to have support like that when you’re playing.

What are your thoughts on the forthcoming preseason games that are lined up?

Some really good friendlies, probably Sittingbourne stands out the most for me.

Have you played with anyone from the current Sheppey squad in the past?

Yes, Harrison at Sevenoaks and Jez at Beckenham.

What strengths do you have that you can bring to the team?

Previous seasons created a lot of assists so hoping to do that again this season. I’m looking forward to the upcoming season. I’m hopeful we’ll win the league.

Sheppey have signed a whole host of players during the close season with Ritchie Hamill, Jez Hammond, Steven Ita, Harrison Carnegie, Rob Denness, Conrad Lee, Ben Davisson, Mickey Phillips and Josh Pelling all jumping aboard the Ites Express.
