Bearsted Football Club have opened up a fundraising account as they look to survive this period without football in good health.
Their club celebrates their 125th Anniversary this year having been a significant part of community sport in Bearsted and the surrounding area since 1895. From their development squad of 4-6 years olds, through to the vets, not forgetting the hugely successful SCEFL first team, the club supports over 500 boys and girls to play football.
The club costs over £125,000 a year to run, from team entry fees, training, coaching courses and maintaining the ground at Honey Lane Otham. 25% of the income required to meet those costs come from our fundraising events. These include their annual tournament, summer ball and quiz nights. As we all socially isolate it is not possible for them to hold these events and so they have a huge dent in their finances.
Their teams are keeping busy playing virtual football and keeping up the community spirit. You can see all the teams videos on their Facebook Page.
The U10s video has been watched 15,000 times at the time of writing.
They need your help to keep us going so we can come back ready to go when we can resume our beloved football again.
