Here are the ‘Aford Awards’ Manager of the Month winners for Season 2019-2020

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the season was cut short and we only were able to award winners up until February.

 

February 2020

Premier Division

Michael Golding – Corinthian

Another excellent month for Michael Golding and his Corinthian side as he booked a Kent Senior Trophy Final place with a win over Beckenham Town and made it through to the FA Vase Quarter Finals with a comfortable victory against Sporting Khalsa. February started with a goalless game at Sheppey United and included big wins over Welling Town and K Sports as the Hoops kept in the hunt for a promotion place by gaining 7 league points from a possible 9.

First Division

Jimmy Anderson – Rusthall

Due to the bad weather a reduced fixture list saw few games played in the First Division. Rusthall played three but won them all handing Jimmy Anderson this Manager of the Month Award. The Rustics scored twelve and conceded just once as the nine points earned saw them take their place at the top of the table.

January 2020

Premier Division

Simon Halsey – Hollands & Blair

11 points collected while staying unbeaten through January means Simon Halsey is the winner of this months Premier Division award.  Starting 2020 in this manner means Blair are firmly in the mix for a promotion place bringing exciting times ahead to the Gillingham-based club.

 

First Division

Dan Scorer – Kennington

3 League games 3 wins for Kennington in January as Dan Scorer’s side raced to the top of the First Division table.  Added to that was a Challenge Cup win over Lordswood as the ‘Ton’ booked a Quarter Final tie at home to Deal Town.

December 2019

Premier Division

Kevin Stevens – Bearsted

A 100% record in December for the Bears as they continued their climb up the table while advancing through the rounds of the Kent Senior Trophy and SCEFL Challenge Cup.


 

First Division

Jason Long – SC Thamesmead

10 points out of a possible 12 and 14 goals scored in those 4 games as SC Thamesmead kept their promotion hopes alive throughout December.


 

November 2019

Premier Division

Michael Golding – Corinthian

November saw Corinthian win all six of their games played as they maintained their top three position in the league while also advancing in three different Cup competitions.

First Division

Lee Garlinge – Rochester United

13 League points gained during November has seen Rochester United return to the top of the First Division table and deservedly earn Lee Garlinge the Manager of the Month award.

 


 

 

October 2019

Premier Division

Adam Woodward – Erith Town

6 wins from 6 games in October has seen Adam Woodward deservedly pick up the October Award. 9 points were claimed in the League while advancement was claimed in 3 Cup competitions.

 

First Division

Dan Scorer – Kennington

4 wins and a draw for Kennington in October as they advanced up the League table while also overcoming higher level opposition in the FA Vase.


September 2019

Premier Division

Ernie Batten – Sheppey United

Sheppey won all 3 League games plus got an FA Vase victory all without conceding.

 

First Division

Ennio Gonnella – FC Elmstead

FC Elmstead opened up a gap at the top of the table with 4 wins and a draw during September. Three of the victories were by a 4-1 scoreline.


August 2019

Premier Division

Richard Styles – Tunbridge Wells

The perfect start to the Season for Wells and their new Manager. 4 games played, 4 wins.

First Division

Dan Kelly – Sutton Athletic

A 7-0 win on the opening day of the season was soon followed by a FA Cup run that included a 6-0 victory over Ashford Town. That will take some topping for Sutton Athletic!
