Unbeaten or winning runs continued for tonight’s top 5 as our teams continued to jockey for position towards the top of the First Division table.
Kennington kept their 100% winning run intact with a 2-0 home win over Croydon. Both goals came in the first half with Gary Lockyer scoring his 10th of the league season and Craig Calvert adding the other for the leaders who have now won all 6 of their games so far this season.
SC Thamesmead stay on the shoulder of the of Dan Scorer’s side after winning at Greenways, a 6th success in a row for the Acre. Mayowa Olufeko netted twice today to keep up an amazing run of scoring in every game as Thamesmead racked up their third 3-1 win in 4 games, giving them the chance to go top when playing Forest Hill Park on Monday night.
Holmesdale are in 3rd place having won for the 5th time in a row in the league but were made to sweat for this one by FC Elmstead. When Marcus Cassius levelled a Shameek Farrell opener late on it looked like Dale’s winning run would end but Sam Adenoal had other ideas so the sequence continues.
Rochester United are 4th and still unbeaten after they came from behind to beat Bridon Ropes 3-1. Jack Kennington had given Ropes a half-time lead but an improved second 45 and goals from Rex Ejimonyeabola, Lucas Payne and Tom Cackett give the Spartans the points.
Rusthall’s rise up the ranks rocked on following a 4-0 away win at Snodland Town. Cameron Gyebour scored a hat-trick for the now 5th placed Rustics as they handed their hosts a second 4-zip loss in a row.
Stansfeld also scored 4 as back to back wins for them advanced them into the top half. Sutton Athletic were on the receiving end today of a 4-1 loss, with all goals coming in a thrilling last 20 minutes. Macey Malyon netted first, Ross Morley twice and Sam Ryan the other meaning Jordan Samuel’s last minute effort for the Sutts was just a mere consolation strike.
Meridian VP remain bottom and will be very disappointed to still be there after they threw away a 2-goal lead at home to Lydd Town. Following goals from Ross Obazee and Harvey Browne for VP Andy Constable replied for the visitors then after Reece Blythe levelled the game Constable scored an injury time winner. You can’t keep a good man down and Andy C was once again a matchwinner for his side in the SCEFL and with the 3 points Lydd Town move up to 10th.
Kent Football United v Forest Hill Park was the only game to finish level today, with the mid-table teams playing out a 1-1 draw at the Efes Stadium. Both goals came early with Alvin Turyatemba equalising a Charlie Tagg opener, with the point moving the hosts up to 8th while FHP are now 11th.
Forest Hill Park return to action quickly when making the trip to Bayliss Avenue on Monday night to face SC Thamesmead.
